Seo Challenge Update
OK... so 12 days ago I set out to put myself to the ultimate seo test. I wanted to buy a domain from scratch, apply a little seo magic and then see how long it would take me to get to the top of google search results.
Low and behold, 12 days later and I'm number seven. (Don't believe it's only 12 days old? Click here to check domain history.)
BTW, I haven't dropped one penny into advertising, ebooks or seo experts for hire.
Stay tuned for my next update. Hopefully, within the next seven days I can hit the number three spot.
Ironically www.fivethingsaboutme.com is the best place to keep up with the updates
In the next update I will tell you what I plan to do with the domain name once it reaches number one.
Who would of thought that the five things about me meme could actually get more interesting. He He He.

Five Things About Me Seo Challenge

So I've finally been tagged for this "Five Things About Me" Blog Tag meme. I said to myself that if I ever got tagged that I would make the game a little bit more interesting. I've decided to put my seo skills to the test. I'll tell you more about it later. Right now I have to tell you five things about me that you don't already know.
1. I'm completly terrified of racoons. I just don't trust em'.
2. In 1999 I recorded the best unreleased underground rap album ever. I produced all of the tracks and all of the vocals were done by Filthy Rich, Trevor and Rugged I. The group's name was Livetikus.
3. I was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica
4. I took the PSAT's in the seventh grade and was accepted into their summer program. I told my parents that I didn't want to go because I just wanted to be a normal kid. It didn't work out.
5. I can glow in the dark...
O.k. now that I can put that behind me, let's put seo to the test. I've just purchased the domain www.fivethingsaboutme.com. The challenge is to get to the top of google and to see how fast it will happen using the natural laws of seo. I want to do it using the search term "five things about me".
Will I get any backlinks? Who knows but it's going to be a fun test none the less.
And to give back to the community, I am going to tag five new people that I just met on MyBlogLog...
ambarxon, rexduffdixon, daveconrey, andrew wee, and roland allen... tag, you're it.

No more free Skype, kinda

Skype has been threatening to kill unlimited calls within the US since October of 2006. They claimed that on January 1st 2007 we would see a brand new business model. Eager to see how this company will survive the switch, I did a little research. Their site now claims unlimited calls to anyone in the US and Canada for only $14.95. Skype to skype calls are still free of course.
When I logged into my own account this morning my balance of $7.11 still stood. I figure that once it runs out they will most likely try to convert me over to their new plan. Although not free, 15 bucks is still a whole lot better than land line, cell and other voip providers such as Vonage.
Test em out for free and www.tryskype.com

Domain Lost:

I've been testing out different domain grabbing services over the past few weeks and another blogger recommended www.pool.com. It seemed easy enough... until my quest became available.
On November 13th I put down $60 for them to backorder a domain that was pending delete. Doing my daily whois ritual I plugged in the domain that I backordered only to find out that another domain broker scooped it up. Im disappointed not only in the fact that I lost the name but also in the fact that I never got an alert from www.pool.com stating that the name deleted and/or we have acquired the domain and it is ready for auction.
I am officially ready to start testing www.snapnames.com
BTW... The domain still says pending delete
