Musically Amazing
So here's the question... If you had the musical talent and you were locked in your room for three months, what would you come up with? Ask Kutiman.

Kutiman is an Israeli producer who took hundreds of Youtube videos, spliced and sampled them together for the ultimate funk, reggae, hiphop, jungle, techno, jazz, pop visual mash-up ever. Using different instruments and vocals from amatuers across youtube, he has created seven tracks. You can watch three of them below but please eventually visit the ThruYou site to hear/watch all seven tracks.
And the marketing? Well, he has no record label... This is all viral. The project was initiated by 3 people who emailed a total of 20 people, who then spread it through twitter, myspace and facebook. Just when technology or music seems like it's up against the wall, someone does something amazing.
Kanye Wins and I Make 50 Bucks

Ye really crushed Curtis this week.
"Kanye West's "Graduation" (Def Jam) easily leads the star-studded class of Sept. 11 releases, posting The Billboard 200's largest sales total in more than two years."
I knew that it was going to be great when I went to my local BestBuy on Tuesday night and Graduation was sold out but the Curtis album was everywhere.
Nick challenged me that Curtis would outsell Mr. West. An easy $50 bucks made and I'm glad it's documented online!
Let me know when you need my paypal address!
Kanye Outsells 50 Cent!
Well maybe not yet, but it's bound to happen.

You guys can follow the wager here. Go pick up the album today or download it for free at emusic.
50 vs Kanye, I got $50 on it

I usually don't post anything music related but I've been asked multiple times in the past week my opinion of the 9/11 square off.
I just put $50 up against Nick that Kanye will outsell Curtis on September 11th.
IMO Curtis is declining musically. He gets accolades for his business savvy but he has turned into a living parody of himself. Kanye moves me a little more creatively.
No matter how it goes down, I'm glad to see two heavy weights go at it without gun play involved.
Nick, get your paypal account ready.

Water is the new soda

"Just when 50 announced to the media that his Curtis album dropping September 4th will be his last studio album...he makes a business deal that blows other rappers out the water. Thanks to his 10% ownership of Vitamin Water, he will cop about $400 million after a deal was made by Coca Cola to buy Glaceau (the creator of Vitamin Water). The deal was for about $4.1 billion. Straight to the bank....."
I could be in the wrong business

Destroying the minds of young black men
Do you think that today's r&b music is influencing young black men to do things that they would not have never done ten years ago? Much more put it on youtube for the world to see with pride?
I've done a lot of things with my boys growing up in Mt. Vernon, NY but I don't recall ever calling them over to record ourselves having air sex with furniture.

Speak on it. I would love to hear your opinion.

R&B Singers Gone Wild
I'm a huge fan of 90's RnB music and most of my friends are too. Every now and then, you just sit back and wonder.... what happened to Coco from SWV or the dudes in H-Town. Here's a recent picture of KC of Jodeci doing his thing.

Sometimes it's better not knowing at all. I wonder if Jojo lost any weight.
