How To Carve A Pumpkin
1. Cut a circle on the top of your pumpkin large enough for your hand to fit in.
2. Clean out all pulp and seeds. Use a large metal or plastic spoon. You can also fill the pumpkin with warm water to help with the pulp.
3. Outline your image on the pumpkin with pencil or marker
4. Cut you outline with a small but long knife. Sawing back and forth is the easiest way not to overcut.
5. Pop out your out-lined pieces
6. Add a candle to the inside of your pumpkin and you're done.
Diet Modification One More Time
I know you think it's a little early to be focusing on summer of 2008. The older I get the more I become aware of what I'm putting in my body.
You've watched me do everything from venom pills to cabbage soup diets and it's that time again. But this time I'm going at it in a whole different way. First off, I'm not overweight or out of shape... I'm just not the same ole casthompson I was 10 years ago. It's time to get back to that place. Remember when I was able to... well ya know...
I'm aiming for a complete lifestyle change. And all I am doing are these four things
- I have eliminated red meat completely from my diet
- Water is the new beverage of choice when I'm in the position to make a choice
- I am committed to running at least twice per week
- I'm eating lighter... replacing pasta and rice with couscous
That's it, that's all. Nothing fantastic. It's just taken me several years to realize that diets won't work. I want my abs back.
Making The Most of Your Online Time

After not posting for a fews days because of other things on my palette, I figured that a fitting comeback post would relate to online time management. Between the nine to five, online businesses, family life and finding time for entertainment sometimes there is little time for personal development. Here is a short list of things that I have done to cut my online time in half but remain productive.
- Use an RSS reader - This is the single most important time management tool. Since using Google Reader over Sage I have been flying through niche news in no time. Thanks Cheynne for putting me on to the blackberry technique. Now I can keep up with news even when I'm not online.
- Don't check earnings as often - I know that it's hard but there is little that you can do at 1:00 p.m. to change your affiliate earnings. Unless you are experimenting, checking once per day is just as effective. I check adsense daily and my other programs weekly.
- Automation - Whatever you can create an automated system for, don't wait... Just Do It. Aweber is currently my favorite tool for newsletters and automated messaging. It's pretty cut and dry.
- Planning - Schedule your days. I try not to random surf as much as I use to. If something intriguing crosses my screen I hit CRTL D and save it for later. I tend to work best between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. so I save projects for nights when I don't have to get up early the next day.
What techniques have you guys been using not to get burned out?

96 Hours In New York

Hanging with Jadon, Ziana, Tiara and Dheaven was just the start of a good weekend in NY. In 96 hours I was able to
- Eat a decent slice of Pizza
- Hit the Westchester Mall to take care of overdue Mother's & Father's Day gifts
- Catch friends, cousins, nieces and nephews that I haven't seen in an eternity
- Eat a beef patty from Royal Caribbean Bakery
- Sleep in, twice
- Catch Evan Almighty (not bad) with my sister
- Eat real Chinese food (Chinese food in Atlanta sucks)
- Get schooled on MatMice by Tiara
I think I gained five pounds!!

Venom Pills
Every so often a new diet pill pops up that's ready to change the game. They will claim to help you lose more weight than you ever lost before. It's spring 2007 and here comes the new hotness.
Venom Pills.

With lots of caffeine and hoodia it will definitely curb your appetite. Just like the rest, you will lose weight but it takes true discipline not to gain it back.
Nick has lost 15 pounds in three weeks. I'm still in my first week and I have lost 4 pounds.
You can read more about it at the Venom Pills site or try that old cabbage soup diet trick I did last year.

Ben Wallace Set To Endorse Starbury Sneakers

Ben Wallace who hasn't endorsed any sneaker up until now has signed on to endorse the Starbury line. Starybury sneakers has been making their name around town a lot in the past few months by offering quality sneaks at an affordable price. I wonder if any other ballplayers are willing to make the switch.... hmmm, we'll have to wait and see.
Can't make it out to Steve and Barry's? Pick up a fresh pair of starybury's online.

It’s going to be different this year
11 things that will make 2007 different than the rest.
1. Hit the gym way more consistently than I did in 2006. That way I won't have to do this.
2. Read twice as many books
3. Find a way to top this vacation... or even this one!
4. Go to church more often
5. Spend more time with family and friends and less time online.
6. ....... Increase my adsense revenue
7. Try to curb my blackberry addiction
8. Save more money.
9. Blog three times as much as I did last year while staying true to #5
10. Stay away from youtube.com. It's a time killer!
11. Focus on the things that make me the most happy.
I have a feeling that 2007 will be a breakout year for me on many different levels. I'm wishing you all the same success if you are willing to claim it.
Let the year begin!

Starbury Sneakers Part 2
A couple of days ago, I made mention of the new sneakers, called the Starbury's. I finally made my way to picking up a pair (at least I thought I would be buying a pair). The sneaker is only available at steveandbarry's and I drove to Alabama to make it happen. A very big store, cool staff and more importantly $9 sneakers. Seeing them in person made me a believer. I ended buying 4 pairs. But here's the twist. Steve and Barry's entered the agreement most likely to bring more customers into their store who will in turn buy other products. And you know what? I think they will do well. Along with the four pairs of sneakers, I ended up buying 3 jackets, a pair of jeans and some t-shirts. Nothing in the store cost more than $14. And I normally wouldn't brag about something like that but at my age, I am beyond trying to impress others. I spent less than $100 and I think I have impressed someone more important, myself.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day 5
219.4 lbs. Amazing. This diet actually works for anyone trying to lose short term weight. I Will say that in addition to losing 5 pounds in 5 days, my body feels alot better. I feel a little lighter on my feet and I don't crave sweets and bread.
I will treat myself to a steak tonight as a reward.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day 4
I cheated. Yesterday I had 2 1/2 slices of Panera Coffee Cake.
Day 3 is supposed to be all about fruit, vegetables and soup. For breakfast I had a plum and then three bowls of soup throughout the day. I found that I was less hungry than the previous days and I wasn't feeling snack cravings at all. At 6:00 pm is when the coffee cake fiasco occured. I thought I was done for. I drank plenty of water throughout the day and even ended my night with more more bowl of soup. I was sure that this morning mark the end but.... nope!
New weight 220.0
Unbelievable. I must go on. According to the plan, today is skim milk and bananas. It should be very interesting. I just need to make it through the next 48 hours.
Cabbage Soup Diet – Day 3
Yesterday was harder than Day 1 for me. I started suffering meat deprevation and the temptation to cheat was strong. I had steamed vegetables consisting of squash, carrots and beans for breakfast and soup the rest of the day. Deviating from the plan a little bit I had watermelon in the evening. The plan says no fruit on day 2 but hey, it's not like it was a cheeseburger, right?
For dinner I had a baked potatoe and I must say, a baked potatoe never tasted so good. Just to taste something other than soup, fruit or vegetables was a relief.
New weight... 221.8
My thoughts of ending the diet have all faded away. Today brings a mix of fruit, vegetables and soup. But Im really looking forward to tomorrow. Stay tuned.
P.S. - I have not hit the gym since I started this diet. All weight loss so far is contributed to the diet.

Starbury Sneakers
So, Im watching CNN this morning and there he was, NY Knick Stephon Marbury pushing his new sneaker... The Starbury. Not big news to me. Just about every other ball player has his own sneaker. So as I prepared my breakfast I over heard the interviewer say something crazy.... "the sneaker only cost $15".
Thinking that it was just an oversight, I continued pouring my juice, only to realize that he was serious. Marbury has dropped a sneaker for the everyday man. Im sure you have the same questions that I have.... quality, right? Starbury claims that the quality is on point and says that these are the sneakers that he will be wearing during game time.
Although a little skeptical, Im sure I will pick up a pair. The crossovers do not look that bad. At $9.99, what do I have to lose?
You can check them out here.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day 2
Even though you are not encouraged to weigh in after day 1, I couldn't help myself. 223.6 (barely under a pound). The first day was rough. The biggest issue was me constantly getting hungry. Throughout the day I had two plums, a bowl of mixed fruit and about 5 bowls of soup. After every meal, I felt hungry again within an hour.
Today, is vegetable day. My body is craving meat but hopefully that baked potatoe for dinner tonight will make due.
Hmmmm.... gotta run, soup for breakfast.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day 1
Today marks Day 1 of my cabbage soup diet. I don't consider myself to be overweight but as they say, "prevention is better than cure". I hit the supermarket yesterday and picked up everything necessary in the ingredients. The only thing I left out were the mushrooms.
I will document the whole diet for the next 7 days (if I make it that long). Day 1 = 224.4 lbs. Just ate a plum and Im already starving.
Nick said he lost 5 pounds. Let's see how I do.

Unpatriotic?
It’s the fourth, a national…. or should I say theeeee national holiday, around 6:45 p.m. and I’ve spent the entire day online. And, it doesn’t even bother me one bit…. but since I’m writing about it, it must concern me just a little. Am I a loner, because I refuse to socialize this year or is life just becoming more and more web 2.0 ish? It might take me another year to figure out that answer but for now, I have to go find a site that will stream fireworks online.
Cheers.
